Journeyman/Master Plumber Exam Prep Course - June 2020

This 3-day class will help you prepare to pass the written, multiple choice and practical sections of the journeyman and master plumber exams.

We will review the IPC, IRC codes, including a brief overview of the Colorado state adopted code amendments, and will help you apply the requirements of these codes/amendments to the installation of plumbing systems.

Topics covered include:

  • the currently adopted codes, namely, the International Plumbing Code (IPC), the International Residential Code (IRC), including fire sprinkler provisions as well as the Rules and Regulations as adopted by the Examining Board of Plumbers
  • a step-by-step demonstration (out of appendix E) of water and water pipe sizingDrain Waste and Vent.
  • how to navigate the code book and test to the code in order to pass the exam 

Once completed, you will be able to answer questions on the following categories covered in the written examination: cross connections; calculations and blueprint reading; combination waste and vent systems; hangers, supports and system protection; indirect and special waste piping; installation techniques; plumbing fixtures; sanitary drainage systems; storm drainage systems; traps, interceptors, separators; vents/venting; water distribution systems; fire sprinklers.

THE CURRENT (2018) IPC IS REQUIRED. The IRC is optional as only sprinkler codes will be reviewed. THE CODE AND COMMENTARY BOOK IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THIS CLASS.

The 2015 version can be used however many changes happened between the 2015 and 2018 code cycles it is highly recommended a 2018 be brought to class.
