Deadline Extended – PHCC Awards

A friendly reminder to you and your chapter members, please continue submitting applications for HVAC Apprentice, Contractor and Instructor of the year as well as Plumbing Apprentice, Contractor and Instructor of the year. AWARDS APPLICATIONS. The deadline for applications has been moved to June 30^th. We hope this extension helps grow our solid pool of candidate’s that we’ve received so far in the nomination process. The awards will be presented in Grand Rapids, MI at CONNECT on the morning of October 30^th at the awards breakfast.

• Monthly Question: How Hard Is It To Get Refrigerant?
  We're asking one quick question to hear directly from you: What refrigerants have been hard to find? Your answers help us capture real-world impacts and share insights across the industry.
• Tariff Rollbacks Bring Relief - But Not Clarity
  Following the trade truce, both the U.S. and China rolled back steep tariff rates. But some tariffs remain in place, and long-term uncertainty still clouds planning and pricing. Contractors continue reporting quote volatility and higher costs.
• New Home Construction Holds Up Despite Tariffs
  With only 7% of materials imported, residential new construction is mostly shielded from tariffs. Demand is shaped more by affordability and interest rates - not trade policy - making it a more stable sector right now.
  However, cooling is starting to become evident in some markets.
• Cooling Product Demand Slows from Hot Start
  AC shipments are up year-over-year, and heat pumps surged earlier this year, but momentum is fading. Furnace shipments have leveled out, and all three product lines are likely to normalize as inventory balances out and economic uncertainty lingers.
